Does anyone know a Harold Leon Brickey Jr.? He died July 31 and I was notified by his father (work related), but of course I didn't ask his dad what happened. He was only 48.

Wasn't he a place kicker for Powell Valley in the mid to late 70's. Not sure, but the name is very familiar.
I always notice people of that age in the paper and wonder hom/why they died.
"There he goes, one of Gods own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die"

Are you guys sure you have the right person? I went to school with a guy named Leon Brickey at Kelly back in the 70s. I think he graduated in 78. His age leads me to believe he is the one who died although I have no verification.
His first name was Harold but he went by Leon. Born in 1959. Probably graduated high school in '77.
I was just really surprised when his dad called me to tell me he had passed on. They had just buried him the day before so I didn't feel it was appropriate to ask what happened. He died at home according to the obit. I thought maybe someone else knew.

Life is a grindstone . Whether it grinds us down or polishes us up , depends on what we are made of .

I've lost quite a few classmates (68-73) in the last few years. It's almost always the dreaded "C" that gets them. My wife even had a bout with it and had surgery in May. Everything seems to be fine now. I'm at the point I just expect it to hit me at any time.
